Can Spring be far behind?

They raise the bridge each Spring to prevent...

There was a 2nd late flood caused by rains last year

Well, when you live at the bottom of a drain for three states, what do ya expect.

1. That's a very quick thaw
Is that normal? Here in Colorado we had a very mild winter. Almost no moisture here in the flatlands. Seems like we went from Winter to Spring right in the middle of February.

BTW... hope you don't mind... skimmed your smugmug. Lots of wonderful photos and your sunset photos blew me away. Very nice....

Got rid of the snow and added to the flood waters.

I want people to see the rc.smugmug pictures. Not a problem passing the url's along.

3. I remember when you posted that last shot.
Is that really a bridge to nowhere, not accessible on either end?

5. Nope. What they do is
raise it up like that for the spring floods.

Normally it looks like this.

6. Can you bring me a life jacket? I could use being rescued.
Actually the Spring floods are a normal event here.
No mystery 'cause the Red River Valley is the bottom of a drain for 3 states. Dumb idea to build the largest city in North Dakota here, but they did.
