Last night it was dark and stormy.
Outside on our deck was some houseplants getting a good shower. The window to the glass door was distorting the view outside and it seemed like a good opportunity to do some low light photography. I took several images, picked up the camera and tripod and moved it over near the kitchen range so I could see the settings. I happened to look through the LCD display and I saw a nicely framed image. What luck. I took a couple snaps, framing the timing to capture the lighting as best I could.

Later I went downstairs and downloaded them. The deck images didn't work to my satisfaction, but the accidental images of the range were interesting. They were grainy due to the low lighting, but I kinda liked that. I messed around a bit with them, adjusting levels and sharpening to enhance the graininess then changed to a black and white image with an overlay of the color image. I then erased every bit of the color image except for the red caps on the salt and pepper shaker.

Here's the end product:

1. Cool!
The red caps are a nice touch, and I love the grain.

2. Reminds me of those bleary late nights awake and hungry or
thirsty, but not sure which.

3. I like that a lot
Great available light pic. Grain really works... my eye immediately goes to the Teapot. Maybe I'm thirsty. :9

The thing sitting on the back of the range is a bit of mystery. I'd say it's an egg holder but it could be a mold of some kind.

You always put so much work into your photos. I always come up with ideas that require that I go from A to Z but I usually collapse around D or E. Can never bring my ideas to life. Oh well. I'll keep pluggin' along... learnin' and stuff.

Lake Monster is right, it is a Mancala board.

But then as touchdown said, it could be a contact lens holder, but he failed to mention it is probably for a veeth Bzinettenr from Xeenirz sud. I could be wrong. I haven't taken acid for a long time so I am rusty on identifying such beings and their personal effects.
