Energy Indepence 2nd Edition

This is a radio controlled sailplane being flown from the bluffs over the Mississippi River in St Paul.
No noise. No pollution (beyond the manufacture and recharging of the battery). There was a moderate breeze off the Mississippi and up the bluffs. He was joined by two friends with planes, and they treated us to a great show of aerobatics, dogfighting, and low level passes over 100mph. They were easily able to stay airborne over 45mins in the updraft over the bluff.

I've never attempted these kind of pics before.
Hazy bright late afternoon sun.
The planes are small, and move very fast when close enough to photograph.


I did have some fun.
My new camera can take pics at 5 fps for over 4 secs. It was fun to hold down the trigger and let it crank of 20 shots.
Unfortunately, if the camera isn't set right, the results is 20 bad pictures.



Next time, faster shutter speeds (lots).
