I'll call this "Neither sleet ..." (Tell me why I like it?)
I hate snow. When I looked out this morning, I decided to snap this. There's something about a camera. (What was it that Sabrina <Julia Ormond> said to Linus <Harrison Ford> when she told him to look through the viewfinder and tell her what he saw?) What is it about the ordinary that can seem extraordinary?

Oh well. Maybe it's just me.

1. I could be you, but The lighting is what makes that
picture alluring in my opinion. I like the flare too.

4. Well, I am a sucker for sunshine.
The morning sun was really clear and bright ... and sunshine is one of my favoritest things. The snow was refracting the light, too - each sparkle was a micro-rainbow.

2. Looks like "home"

for many of us who grew up in "Leave-It-To-Beaver" land. But an idealized version of home. Quiet. Innocent.

Cool sparkly snow, too.

5. Yes, the neighborhood was unusually quiet and peaceful then.
I rather liked the mail-person's footprints going next door -- even though the walks were clear. It sorta ties neighbors together, showing no walls. I also like the angle of the light, showing the contours and prints in greater relief.

6. Flashback!!! The mailmans prints reminds me of the
difficulty delivering in snow and ice. I always had at least one bad fall in the winter. Painted porches with snow on them is just about the slickest thing in the world.

So when I see the snow, I see the beauty, but I also remember the fatigue and hazards.

3. It reminds me of where I lived when I was a kid
the suburbs, ordinary but peaceful.
:hi:
