If this works, here are a few pictures of Hatcher Pass north of Anchorage taken last September.

6. I think I screwed up...
...I moved my pictures into an "album" on Photobucket, and now they don't seem to be in my original post anymore and it's too late for me to edit, so here they are again, just in case anybody else wants to see them.

8. I've got quite a few of those, too... LOL
Is that Hatcher Pass also? It kind of looks like it. Have you been here in the summer at all? If not, you should definitely make the trip. It's a photographer's paradise up here -- you can't go wrong.

9. I lived there for 3 years...
Belonged to the Mountaineering Club of Alaska...slogged through more wet and snow than I could ever do now...

I still have some land south of Glenallen (no land taxes forever under the homestead act) on the Copper river close to the Chitna where they do the dip-netting. Have to get back there some day.

Drove the Alcan twice...had a blast.

10. Oh, I LOVE Chitina...
Back in the '70s, my X and I used to camp over there a lot. I especially liked the walk along the old railroad tracks back to O'Brien Creek, I think it was? (It's been a LONG time.) There was a place where you could camp at one little stream, and then it was about 7 miles back to another little creek that emptied into the Copper River, and there was a great little beach there. The last time I was over there, they had made it so cars could drive all the way back which really spoiled it, but then a few years later, they had a landslide and trapped a bunch of fishermen, so I'm not sure what the status of it is now. That dipnetting over there is really a trip. You have to tie yourself to a tree to keep from falling in the river.

Now I want to go back. Thanks for reminding me. :)
