Ok I did not know Lexington Va was the home of VMI :) But I did know it had a lot of Civil War homes there. One of the workers at the railroad in Roanoke kept telling me to go take some pictures here so I took off to check it out today. I checked out what there was to do in the town and saw the horse drawn carriage ride so I did that. The young lady on the left was my tour guide, and she was book for 6 ppl when I got there and told me I would have to do the next one. I drove across the street and parked my car at the tourist information stand and was standing outside having a cigarette when she started waving at me. I walked over and she said nobody showed so it was just the two of us. :) Great tour. Saw part of the VMI campus. The tour guide is a college student and I am a dumb Democrat with sometimes more money than brains, gave her $40 for my $16 tour.
After the tour, I asked her for a place to eat and she directed me to a place in town. Went there and there was all these funny guys in white uniforms.
LOL, learned the horses will NOT drink city water. They will only drink before and after work back at the farm. My guide said, they have given the horses Gatoraid from a bottle and the horses will drink that, but if you mix up Gatoraid mix with city water, the horses turn up their noses at it. So I trusted the horses and only drank beer in the restaurant...
Interesting, on the way out of town, saw the lonely Repug headquarters, and a Webb for Senator headquarters with a couple cars outside. :)
