France and Italy
In honor of that teacher in Texas who was let go after one of her students saw a nude statue during a field trip, I present...my photos from Europe!

1. Super
Hard to pick favorites, but I love the long exposures of the Trevi Fountain and the Pantheon. Nice contrast between the fleeting span of human lifetimes and the enduring nature of what people build and sculpt. Great stuff.

2. Cool.
It's always interesting to see how different people interpret pictures. I hadn't thought about it that way---I was just trying to fix the unavoidable technical problem of having random people in my wide shots. But if it had been someone else's shot, I might have seen it that way, too.

3. They have an onteological undertone
And even if they didn't, the pure implacability of stone juxtaposed with the swaths of moving figures is visually really pleasing. Wow, I haven't sounded this pompous since I wrote art reviews for my university paper... Anyway, I'm being as sincere & articulate as I can.
