***PHOTO THAT CAPTION CHALLENGE - JANUARY 2-7***
I hope you all had a very happy New Year's.

Its that time again, so snap away.

Thanks to F Gordon for this one (although he has no idea that I've filched it from him and he might come after me.)

Challenge 5
"Photos even your mother would hate"

This is challenge series based on creativity. Everything and anything is okay as long as it is loosely based on the caption and is your own work (and doesn't break any DU rules). Other than that, have fun and get your imagination pumping. Extreme processing is allowed. Feel free to post multiple pictures.

Discussion is heavily encouraged.

Required legal stuff:
CHALLENGE LICENSE:

An entrant to this challenge, by submitting a photograph, is giving permission for that photograph to be copied to Demopedia and/or to a linked Gallery that will display the photographs entered for this contest for the purpose of publicizing future contests and/or commemorating current and past contests. The entrant retains all other rights to the photograph being submitted. Neither Demopedia and/or a linked Gallery may use any photograph submitted for any purpose other than to display the photograph being submitted by the entrant, and neither gains any real or implied ownership rights to the photograph.

An entrant can disclaim this Challenge License and retain all rights to the photograph. If an entrant wishes to disclaim the Challenge License they must include the following statement in the post containing their photograph; "I disclaim the Challenge License, and reserve all rights to my photograph" Any photograph submitted by an entrant with this disclaimer statement will not be copied and displayed in Demopedia and/or any linked Gallery.

1. My mom, the purist/cook, used to hate this
(and sadly I found it in my pantry, but it's really old, 'cause I'm making my own now!):

Strictly inorganic tomatoes in there...

3. Note the title: things mom wouldn't like! And it was about 99 cents, thank you.
But admire the eye of the picture taker, 'kay? ;-)

4. Oh, I admire. I love it. I was praising it, maybe
it did not translate well to text, but...

14. "Domestic Goddess In A Jar"
I don't know what it is about a kitchen being the test of hembra and a garage being the test of macho.

5. "Why can't I see their faces?"

Hey!! That caption sounds vaguely familiar.

Sorry I haven't kept the smugalugafug updated with this. I need to get you the secret decoder ring so you can just add to it when I'm not around..... which in a few days will be quite often. :-(

... sound of cheering and applause...... I hear

Also need to update the "links" pages. Trying to come up with lots and lots of helpful links. Just have not had the time to do it right now.

11. Awww....
Don't be too much of a stranger - I'm working 24/7 all over creation and am still dropping in. Not doing much but saying hi....but it's a nice break!

7. Creepy self-portrait
Cindy suggested I call this "Self portrait as a serial killer". My mom would say, "Why don't you smile?"

10. Nicely done.
Black and white is a good choice for that shot.

'Mom channeling' here - so many reasons a mother wouldn't like it.

"Why don't you smile? You really should smile more often. And what happened to that nice electric razor we got you for your 16th birthday? Did it stop working? Check the warranty, son. They're a reputable company and will probably fix it for you. All you have to do is ask. You're not planning on going out in that shirt are you? You'll catch your death. Put on that lovely warm sweater that I spent all last winter knitting for you. Yes, I know one sleeve is longer than the other, just roll it up and nobody will notice... etc, etc..." :)
