A couple of shots from my New Year's Day photo wanderings. I discovered that cold air and dangerous wind chills does wonders for a New Year's Eve SoCo hangover.

These two shots were taken at the Van Der Veer park lagoon/skating pond in Davenport. I drove by today and not only is the open water gone but a crew was out grooming the ice. The ducks probably took off for the Mississippi River just about a mile away.

but I feel a whole lot colder now. Isn't it amazing how certain waterfowl can take the cold like this? Wow! Nice images. I especially like the second one. It's probably just an illusion, but it almost looks like you used a fisheye lens. :)

I don't know why they just don't pack it up and fly to Italy? :shrug:
