So here are some recent shots of young Zen, as a tonic for me at least. Just over 6 months old now. DS1, look away!

Chewing on a stick he dug out of the snow, which gives him a pleasingly menacing expression:

1. Much better than
GD-P.

I am glad I can view from the safety of my home. If some of these people were in the same room together I think there would be broken furniture and objects flying. Sigh. What a mess.

Cute puppy. He probably doesn't give a rat's ass about the primaries. Lucky him.

2. That's the thing about them internets, Mz Pip...
people tend to behave in ways they wouldn't normally behave if face-to-face.

I mean, they can't ALL be like my father-in-law... :D

Liked yer bird pics, btw.

:hi:

3. In the spirit of GDP: "My dog's stick is bigger than your dog's stick!"
Well, really just a chance to put up a Lucy pic. And to say great portraits. The connection between the human and the dog is nicely captured in Zen's eyes.

The following is from camping in SW Oregon last summer. Lucy regards pulling sunken wood from the bottoms of lakes and rivers as -- a right?, a duty?, a pleasure?, a challenge?, an opportunity?, a service?, a moral imperative?, great fun? free juicy chew toys? Anyway,

10. Wonderful pic of Lucy
You never know, she might just find some sunken treasure one day. Of course, to her I guess everything she finds is a treasure, at least for a few minutes!

4. Awww...what a precious boy!
He obviously adores you. He's got that look in his eyes!
My golden used to get sticks stuck in her teeth right behind her canines. It made her look a little like a chipmunk, or John McCain. (giggle followed by a slap for myself for such a mean thought.:spank: )

Zen is a beautiful boy! I like the second shot with the smile.

5. Love 'watching' him grow up.
He's losing some of his puppyness (is that a word?) and is beginning to show signs of what he will look like as an adult.

Your third photo is the heart melter for me.

Thanks for sharing these.

12. Thanks, soup
He's starting to look pretty mature, usually just for a few minutes at a time. As for his deportment, he inadvertently destroyed the screen door the other day, and has pretty much trashed a rocking chair. We just love him, but he's a handful.

6. awwwwwww
He's a sweetie pie and it looks like you guys have quite a bit of snow in which he can frolic.

I'm sure it slowed him down so he didn't turn into a furry blur.

Saved me from shoveling some snow, bless him.:)

7. Yeah, GD:P is a circus.
I don't even recognize some of those people in there who I thought I knew.

But your doggie pictures are really adorable. We have little pathways cut out for Jax in the snow because otherwise he would disappear.

9. Great shot!
and you're right, it's best not to let dogs stray too near the rabid wolverines in that forum.

They're stuck in a quagmire with no exit strategy in sight...
