Well, since I can't afford a good macro lens, I tracked down
a used set of close up adapters/filters to mount on my 50mm lens. They'll do very nicely for now.

This is a 100% crop from the first few test images. Nice results and only $30 :)

I'll try them out on some flowers and such tomorrow or Saturday.

2. Thanks. Even new, the set of filters only costs about $60-80.
The only drawback is it becomes absolutely necessary to be very close or you can't focus. So, it increases the odds of you casting a shadow on your subject. Ah well, for $30 or so, I won't complain at all (I think the grand total was $36 after shipping).

4. Has Anyone Tried a Reversing Ring?
I'm curious to know if they do well.

5. I haven't used them, but I've seen some VERY good results
using them, especially with a 50mm lens.
