3 more flower pictures - need help

1. I'm having the same problem.

I can't decide with yours either. I think I might be leaning towards number two; I like the sillouette.

Did it come out like that naturally? My flower picture is against a black background, too -- I just really got lucky with my settings and the available light -- didn't have to do anything with the photo program. I guess this means I'm really learning photography. Woo-hoo. Trial and error...........

But I also really like #1, with the funky lookin' flower and the bee. Needed a break from paperwork :-( so I did a quick fix of it. Straightened it out. Cropped it. Slight enhancement.

Sorry... didn't mean to mess with your photograph. Just trying to learn all this "photoshop" stuff, and I would pick #1 if it was something like this......

5. I was scared to cut the left side

I thought the picture would fall out on tht right side. BNut it doesn't. It really looks good.

9. I'm no expert

And those that are would probably tell me that I'm full of crap, but I think the crop works. I tend to shoot things off center which I know isn't proper and all... but I've never been much for mainstream stuff and rule things so why should I start now?

I took a snapshot of what I think is the same funky looking flower, but I don't have a bee in the shot. Mine falls to the left :-) so I don't see why yours can't fall to the right. Just don't get in the habit of always shooting to the right. ;-)

10. normally I try to take my pictures in a symmetry

which wasn't really possible with those flower pics. I didn't take the picture with a fall to the right on purpose. If I remember right it was that way because of the bee and because other flowers and plants would have been in the way with another angle

11. I had the same problem

I'd see a pretty flower but when I'd go to frame it there would be stuff I didn't see before around the flower that would mess with my snapshot. Sounds like you figured this stuff out quicker than I did.

My "job" requires me to see things in terms of symmerty, balance, visual weight, etc.... so I try not to take my "job" with me when I'm clicking snapshots, but sometimes I can't avoid it.

Could it be that we're overcompensating for our usual balanced Libra approach to things? I usually make an effort NOT to have my subject right in the middle. It just looks too staged that way.

14. Yes, it's lupine.

Yours is wild, MissHoneychurch's is a cultured variety.
But you can always tell lupine by the vaguely pot-leaf-esque shape of the plant leaves. :smoke:

17. yes, CLEAR PICTURES!!!!!

crisp. I like them all. I'll pick the daisy as my favorite but #1 also gets me with it's blues and clairity.
