1. These are good
but the one you entered is such a beautiful study in patterns and depth, I'm glad you picked it. Every time I look at it, and I keep looking at it, I find things I hadn't noticed before.

Very special photograph, I think.

I'm just really fond of the pic of the old couple walking away and found it after I posted the Paris Market.

Of course I did make a small adjustment on the old couple. There was an unfortunately placed lamp post that has been removed.

3. I like the first one a lot.
I prefer the one you entered in the contest though. It's one of those pictures that keeps drawing me back for another look. Like JeffR, I keep discovering new things in it.

4. So, I worked over the shot I entered and I think I like this even more

The blur and film grain concentrates the eye towards the subjects even more I think.

6. I like the idea of it and i like your immediate direction of what you want us to
focus on.
Yet - the unadulterated version gives an undisturbed view of a scene we are not exactly familiar with, and gives us a lot to study, find and enjoy.
Once I check out the non-distorted areas which are a treat to see then I want to stop looking because my eyes get confused, and then I miss out.

I think in the case of this wonderful photograph less was more, so, I prefer the original.

8. I understand about the unaltered version - but
I'm increasingly in agreement with a friend who is a professional photographer - "I don't take pictures - I make them". He does both corporate stuff and some very artistic nudes. He seldom leaves a shot untouched.

5. OK, I'll play. Here's the one I 'should' have entered for "Street Scenes"
It was taken nearly 40 years ago (old technology, scanned from a slide) but it still takes me back ...

7. Very evocative
And "old tech" did a good job.
