okay, so what's it do? what is it?

it is the inserts from most any box, the cushion stuff in the top and bottom, with a space cut out to fit my flash

what does it do?

let's ask the beagle first, used as you see in the pic above, hand-held a few inches away from her



not bad... almost the same as a lightsphere, IMHO

now for a refinement. I thought, since I was using the inserts from the box, hey... why not put the flash behind the thing in the box and shove the inserts on top? Let's see what the cat says about that...

But it still seems like a nice substitution. Expecially considering the cost. :)
I am definately going to try it out. Have been tinkering with other solutions, but haven't been quite happy with any of them.

and I went through the whole diy light modifier thing for a long time

then someone loaned me a lightsphere... wow, this stuff ain't tupperware!
