1. For me--not close
Nina peeking. And I like most of these a lot. You just can't pose a cat like that.

2. This was tough for me...
I loved the hot stuff, the red pepper so much...

But in the end, I felt the jewels were more subtle, and beautiful.

Good luck!

:hi:

3. I'm partial to Rhode Island Reds.
We have one that looks exactly like your photo.
Her name is Lucy (Ricardo), and she is also one of our best layers.
Our Reds are alert, intelligent, and very social.
I never knew that chickens were so intelligent, so individual (personalities), and so much fun until we started our flock last Spring....though our rooster is kinda cranky and pugnacious. You really don't want to turn your back on him.
The free range eggs are absolutely delicious.
I will never be able to go back to those pale, tasteless, anemic eggs sold in the stores.

As far as the photos:
Like I said, I'm partial to the portrait of the Red. It is an excellent photo, and it is True to the Contest Theme.

The one with the cat is probably a better, more provocative photo, and will get the doggy/kitty votes, but is not really true to the contest theme.

But what do I know.
I always pick the wrong photo.

I agree with every word about the bitties!

And, ahem, one would not want to win a contest with a cat photo.

5. For one of our contest themes,
...we should do "Cats, Puppies, and Cute Kids" just to clean out the pipes. :)
