Timisoara Cold Series
I don't think I have put any of these up before. All were taken in Timisoara, Romania, during the winter of January/February, 2006, using our CanonPowershot A520. It was so cold that portions of the Black Sea froze over, and they had to run icebreakers up the Danube to allow barge traffic to move.

5. I just love these, Adsos.
You've really captured the feel of the place (or I assume you have since I've never been there). :)

7. Thanks Blue!
Not all of Timisoara, or Romania for that matter, look like that. I am working up a series showing the Soviet influence/damage done to that country under Ceaucscu, as I find the time. We saw plenty of that, and the orphanages we were there to work with are a direct result of that tyrants policies. :(

8. I've wanted to visit Romania...
for as long as I can remember.

Not in the winter though. I grew up in the cold. I don't do it well.

Fantastic, beautiful pictures.

9. Thankyou a la izquierda ...
Romania is a country full of many contrasts: beauty and ugliness, charm and deterioration, wonderful people and government corruption, and way too much poverty.

The nation has had a rough life, but it is definitely worth a visit, and the people are wonderful.

And their winters can be horrific, as in many eastern european countries...

OT, but...do you have dealings with the University of Oklahoma?

11. I'm a grad student at OU.
Great university, actually. They've taken really good care of me!

I find that Mexico, too, is a country of contrasts...actually, similar to those you listed. Minus, of course, the hellish winters.

10. Extremely nice architectural images
and street scenes. I like the color in the buildings. It is something you just don't see much in the US. At least I do not see it.
