11. Well you got the C O right

It's at Niebaum Coppola.

They really are doing the red carpet treatment these days. A $25 fee will get you a tasting of their high end wines, tours, and unlimited access to grounds. Valet parking, too. They are trying to eliminate the riff raff and pull in the big spenders.

It was Super Bowl Sunday (my favorite day to get out with the camera), there was no one around so I had a chat with the valet and wandered to my heart's content.

Copia, if you didn't know it, went belly up in bankruptcy. No surprise.

Great idea, poorly executed.

15. Yeah.
I went to the opening since one of my clients gave me tickets. My friend and I came out, looked at each other and agreed that there was no there, there. They never once came close to having a focus.

30. go to Bouchaine in Carneros
Really lovely French style chardonnay and Pinot Noir. And best of all - the tasting is FREE! Or at least it was when we went at Xmas. Probably still is. It's a couple of miles from Domaine Carneros - the Taittinger joint venture sparkling.

I didn't even notice the 'RED' until a couple hours later. I knew I had my entry.

5. NV! your carpet picture
I have absolutely loved your carpet pictures from the first time you posted them, but I was wondering if there was a reason that you posted them in such a small size? Do you have it in a bigger size? It would be more in keeping with the other pictures posted if it was a bit bigger. While all of us in the photography group can easily imagine this in the larger size, I am wondering if less visual people in GD would be able to do it. I'm afraid some people might overlook it, and that would be a shame.

Of course, I could be wrong about all this. But that is what these comment threads are for, and I may be able to learn something interesting about your strategy, LOL.

12. You know this size thing has me flumoxed
I set them at the required size and they come in really small. Can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. I'll see if I can get it larger.

14. Okay, I changed size
and it seems to be compatible with the other photos. According to the readings in PhotoShop, however, it exceeds the file size.

38. This is the first time
I have ever had a size issue. I sort of thought Photobucket sort of automatically sized the pics. Guess not. I just can't figure out why this photo is the only one, after 3 years of doing these submissions, that came up with the wrong size.

I'll be sure to check next time before I move it to Photobucket.

24. I love the red racers
There, I said it. That's a better picture than the firemen. Did they actually force everyone to wear the red shirt? In the 5k races around here, people aren't so color coordinated. Well, it seems as if most of them are white shirt giveaways, anyway--cheap ones of course, and pretty boring.

Anyway, talk about capturing the spirit of the name of the competition!! I've decided that one secret to this is to have a really big archive of pictures.

I went and looked at 2:05 and realized that I had NO TIME to enter. I didn't even have my entry on Photobucket at that point. Luckily I had decided which one I wanted to put up.
Just under the wire.

and then the cat.

I wonder how others will vote.

I'm always surprised to see the results.

My fave is Red Runners, and my second fave is the CAT. I go for emotional content and connection to the theme over technical proficiency, although that is important, too.

I have an odd feeling that the cat will win. Honestly there are six or seven favorites of mine. It took a lot of thinking to come up with those two for me.

46. This one was difficult for me
But a lot of fun, in the end. But the best part was seeing everyone else's work. What made it even more interesting was that people were posting a lot of their pictures ahead of time, and I got to see the choices that they made.

Honestly, this contest was a great, great learning experience for me. I think "patience" may have been part of the lesson (I was so frustrated).
