Elk, Rocky Mountain NP
I stumbled into this shot last summer on vacation. The elk were only a few yards away and the light was perfect!

10. Colorado is my favorite noncoastal state.
I lived there from the time I was 9 to 15 and again for a year when I got out of college. I have happy memories of camping with my family in those mountains. :)

3. What a phenomenal opportunity presented to prepared hands.
I simply love it when that works out this well.
The close up is a photo I think I won't forget- not just a rare portrait, but a wonderful way to divide space.
