Some shots from today
Edited on Mon Feb-23-09 06:15 PM by dbmk
Was home early from work and the sun was out for the first time in weeks. So I ran out to catch the last of it and get some shots off.

I am particularly satisfied with the last one.

1. Oh, and I bought the Canon G10 on Saturday

Went out testing it, but the weather was not particularly good, so there was not much worth sharing, but as a bonus shot I give you the grave of Hans Christian Andersen:

5. Assistentens Kirkegård in Copenhagen
Directly translated: The Assistants Cemetary.
Lot of old Danish poets and otherwise famous (over here at least :) ) people are buried there.

2. They're all cool, but.....
.......I must say that I personally like the first one best, where the 4 little mini-glaciers really capture the light, in different ways.

Very nice.

4. All ever so very beautiful. But I must say I love the golden duck-reflections
very much. I would crop that tight, but I know about the loss of the "source of the gold".
Thanks. Made me happy.

6. Thank you
And I can understand the cropping comment.

I was fiddling around with it and tried that. It was not so much the loss of the light source. But there is next to no detail on the ducks though - and that becomes a little too obvious and a dominating dark space of nothing if I cropped tight on them, I thought.
Even with some postprocessing stunts, there simply is not much information there to do much about it.

I will try recropping it when I get home later though. Just to see what we get. :)

7. At your service: Tightly cropped ducks
Worked a bit better than I experienced yesterday. Of course I was wasted after having been up all the night before watching the Oscars, so my judgement and vision might have been impaired.

8. I like the duck shot a lot too..
Very nice, I would have left just a bit more above the ducks in the cropped shot though.

Purely a matter of taste.
