Is now happening. Sorry, Northerners. Hope this brings some color and brightness to you.

2. Thanks for the color.
Yes, there are some of us who only see white when we look outdoors.

I love your daffodil. Had a bunch of them at my old house. They are a sure sign that spring is on the way.

3. Very nice!
We have some signs of spring here, too. Some of the earliest fruit trees are blossoming. I think I need to snap some pics. Is that purple one a crocus? If so, good job on catching it before it opened up all the way.

4. Yes, it's a crocus
I really like the look of flowers before they open up totally. There's a feeling to me of potential that has yet to be met. An energy of expectation.

7. I could have sworn I SMELL them. Then I realized it's the pieces of Daphne on
my desk. ( I paid 38 bucks for a plant of it 10 " square, about 7 years ago, under duress. Now it is a bush about 5'square and is making my entire yard a paradise of scent)

Your photos are glorious, harbingers of what is to come, and I don't know when I was more ready for spring than this year. Thanks for making me think it's just about here.
I did not notice until not too long ago that there actually are quite distinct "seasons" in your part of the country. Just because they are less glaring they still exist.
I am struck by the vibrant color in all of your photos, but especially like the leaves and green in the one of the daffodil.

8. Thank you so much!
Southern California has very different seasons but they are distinct. Spring starts shortly after the first rains when all of the grasses and wild "weeds" (a major part of my diet right now!) begin to grow. Most of the wild plants are beginning to flower now. By mid-summer all of the grasses and weeds have seeded and are turning brown. With autumn comes the winds and the fires, though now it's starting much earlier in the year. I just had several migrating birds show up as well since the eating is good now.
