I'm going to Alaska!!!

It was a last minute thing, a cruise with a bunch of people Mr Pip went to high school with. Am taking my camera and will try to figure out what side trips to take. we stop at Sitka and Anchorage and someplace else. I wish we had the time to do the side trip to Denali but I have to be back to hang my show.

I've never had much interest in cruises but the Alaska trip sound pretty interesting. Our room is on the side where you can see the land, though I doubt my 300mm lens will be of much use. Still it will be fun.

Which ship/line are you taking? paisley and I took Holland-America back in 1996, and had an enjoyable time. I wish I'd had a better camera setup with me back then!

5. Infortunately only a couple of hours.

This was a last minute trip we signed onto with some of Mr Pip's old high school friends. I was hoping to stay a couple of days in Anchorage before we flew back and take a trip to Denali but my schedule won't allow it. I have to be back to hang my show on June 4 so when the boat gets into Anchorage on June 3 we have about 4 hours before we have to fly back to SF.

It looks like we'll get to see the inside waterways by Vancouver, Prince william Sound, Ketchikan, Juneau, Skagway and Sitka, but little time in Anchorage. :-(

I'm hoping Mr Pip likes this enough so that we can plan another trip and spend more time.

It's a start, at least.

6. That's too bad, Mz Pip

but hopefully Mr. Pip will be so impressed that he'll bring you back. The waterways in Southeast are truly spectacular, so you won't be disappointed even if you don't get to spend much time up here around Anchorage. We've actually been having a pretty wonderful summer so far -- I hope the weather holds for you because it can get pretty damp down around the Panhandle.

I long to visit Alaska, it's such a beautiful state. And I simply adore all of Blue's photos, I never tire of them. She's a great champion for her state.

That sounds like a fun trip. I've never been as far up as Alaska, but the West Coast is amazing. Keep an eye out for orca, dolphins, seals, etc. Happy sailing!
