1. These are wonderful.
May I ask what lens you used for your closeups?

5. Thanks Blue
the Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro USM was used in shots 2 and 4

for the waterlily I used the EF 70-200mm f/2,8L IS USM with the Extender EF 1.4xII which combined gives a max focal length of 280.

8. Oh, good, I have both those lenses,
but not the extender. That extender sounds like something for the "wish list." :)

9. there are two flavors
a 1.4 extender and 2.0 extender. Really adds some more versatility to that already terrific 70-200 lense.

2. That bird needs a chiropractor
My neck hurts just looking at it. Your flowers are much more soothing, especially the closeup of the centre. How do you do that? If I managed it even once, it would be totally by accident and yet your pictures are consistently amazing.

Happy birthday, Spock

4. Glad to see your offerings. 2 perfect images with reflections, one with a bird that
will now hurt twice (referencing the chiropractor comment), and one where Monet has to come back to see if he can re-create the ambiance of your photo of the water lily in oils.

The folks in my family who want me to be there to take pictures on birthdays don't know about you, and I'm glad for it. How did you manage the background so perfect for popping off the boy?

Well, it's late, I'm a bit punchy, it's been a helluva rich day, and I congratulate you on being a person where if I could be a fly on your camera bag just for a little while I would be a really happy one!

On the fourth one I'm a little lost. What is the encroachment of white on the left and the right? Are you therefore showcasing the clarity and the fabulous focus of the flower and its appointments, or am I just missing something? I suppose I am because I keep coming back to realize the indistinct sides really accentuate the center.

7. Just yesterday I realized the magnolias are blooming
and thought it's time to get a bloom and float it in a bowl of water. Thanks. It's all coming together for me now.

11. Is that a snake bird?
Not sure how far north they roam. Beautiful capture and love the flowers too. Specially the Magnolia. Spock is a handsome young man. Hope he enjoyed his b-day.

I never complained about the cypress trees and do miss them.
