Here are a couple more from a little closer to home. These were taken from the Tony Knowles Coastal Trail here in Anchorage, a walk HullBoss and I take two or three times a week.

This is Westchester Lagoon

Knik Arm tidal flats (Port of Anchorage on the right)

3. Both are great
but the clouds in the second one make that one my favorite. I especially like the way the white in the cloud is reflected in the channel at the bottom and in the still water near farther shores.

4. first one is gorgeous!
I need to see AK someday. Am going to Vancouver in August, that's as close as I will get for awhile I think. Thanks for sharing your countryside.

5. You're very welcome.

You really do owe it to yourself to come up here sometime. It's spectacular ... although today's been kind of miserable. Fire season is in full swing here and Anchorage is blanketed in smoke today from fires on the Kenai Peninsula southwest of here. For a while, we could barely see to the end of the block. This evening the air quality has been upgraded from "very unhealthy" to merely "unhealthy," so I guess we've seen the worst of it, at least for the time being.
