Here are three possiblities for the water photo contest

So, what do you guys think of them? And, again, I'm horrible at titles so any ideas will be very welcomed.

1. I like all three - but for different reasons

After pondering all three for a few minutes the top one emerged as my favorite, but it might not be a good entry in the DU contest where people (I suspect) spend very little time looking at each photo. For this contest number three might have a better chance because it has light (sunny grass), an immediate attention grabber (tree) and then the attention is drwn to the geese in so many different poses.

I'm no good at tiles either!

2. Is number three in focus?

I'm having a hard time being able to tell right now because a) my eyes are a little bleary from lack of sleep, and b) I need to dust my monitor.

But I'm viewing it on a laptop with sticky spots squirted from the grapefruit I had for breakfast :eyes:

4. Hmmm.

I viewed it really big and it looks focused. My camera has a way of making a picture look focused when it isn't. I think it's a magical camera.

5. I agree with GOPFighter.... #1

I have a like snapshot that I called Putting Life on Pause. You're welcome to use the Title.... or maybe a variation. But... if you use it and win the contest you have to promise that the Theme for August will be "Aged Objects". :P

Good title! I think #1 is my favorite too, but do you think it's a good choice for the contest? As GOP said, people probably tend to only look at the pictures briefly. Excellent pic, too! Much nicer than mine!

7. Yours is an excellent photo

Has a very somber feel to it. I can place myself in the eyes of the subject.... wonder what they are thinking. Maybe nothing... but I have a vivid imagination. :crazy:

Don't sweat the voting crap. And yes... very few I suspect do more than a cursory glance at the photos offered up in the "contest".

Mine is California. Blue coastal states just have better looking water. ;-)

I have a vivid imagination as well. I like that the subject is looking down and not at all the cool scenery in front of him. I imagined that he had just heard some bad news or something and was trying to get himself together before he kept walking.

It was pretty early in the morning and there was a haze that was just starting to lift. That's what created that yellow color. I'm actually quite impressed with myself. :D I think I'm going to use that picture for the contest; I don't care if they don't look at it very hard. At least I'll be getting it out there.

I think I will use that title you gave me. And yes, if I win (though don't hold your breath on that one) I will pick Aged Objects for next month's theme.

I wish the water could be that blue here on the east coast. Maybe it is in Florida, but not Maryland. Actually, that harbor in the picture is very polluted, and I actually have heard that if you swim in it you should get a Hepatitis shot! EWWW!

8. I'm partial to the Key Bridge shot (#1), too...

...partially because I have such strong memories of that area, but also because it is such a wonderful, moody composition.

10. I love Fort McHenry.

It is such a cool park with a great view and so much history. Here's a few more pictures from that trip.
