Edited on Sun Oct-18-09 03:40 PM by Canuckistanian
Every year, I make at least one good print of a Fall color scene. Here it is for this year:

1. Those trees are on fire...Beautiful!
The orange/red against the blue is very nice; natural compliments.

4. I was lucky to get the shot this year
I always like to have a pure blue sky in my Fall shots. And the really bright reds like this only last about a week at their peak.

And this year, it rained for almost a week - continuously. But on Oct. 8th - I got the sky I wanted.

Here's another one from the same day - but the colors are a little too saturated. I used the "Chrome" setting on my Fujifilm S100fd

3. Even if
I had gotten my weather wishes, such as Indian summer, sunny warm days, bicycle rides around the lake, I could not have done a fabulous job like that.

So.
I can dream of other things now. You probably have that contest in the bag.

It's supposed to be peak color around here this weekend and next, but we had pretty much torrential downpours most of the past two days, and I wasn't able to get out for even a single photo. I'm praying that next weekend turns out better because, after this one burst of fall color, nature photography is pretty much over in the Pacific Northwest until next March or April.
