I have to tell you a little story about a Japanese colleague of mine who speaks German.

Years ago, while at a restaurant with him somewhere in Greece, I remarked how I thought my chicken tasted like crow. Seeing the puzzled look on his face, I asked him if he knew what a crow was, to which he replied, "Yes, that's a toiret." :D


Your picture made me think of those silly book titles we used to call, I believe, "Tom Swifties" in elementary school.

The only two I can remember are " "Under the Grandstands" by Seymour Butts", and " "Yellow River" by I.P. Freely". :dunce:

Good light there in winter in the late afternoon, and that light goes well with mallards. Mallards are really beautiful! I like it too, but definitely not my favorite for 2009 (which really is just a snapshot, not arty at all, but very "in the moment"--I have to use it though, because it is by far my personal "fave".)
