This is one of my first shots of 2010.



It's at the cemetery where my grandparents are buried. I decided yesterday to stop up and pay a visit to their final resting places. (A quick one, considering how cold it was). This statue stood out to me when I was driving back to the section where they're located.

2. I know someone with the same last name

and they do pronounce it Nipple. Poor kid could of paid dearly for the surname but was so adept at making fun of it herself that it became a non issue for teasing.

4. It has its share of interesting monuments

The cemetery where my grandparents and other family members are buried certainly has its share of interesting monuments - especially in the older sections of the cemetery.

For example this stone;



My understanding is that in the 19th century that was a popular style in some areas, that a monument made to look like a tree trunk represented a life cut short.

5. I bet Chloe is a pension

widow, married the old man for the Civil War pension.
Very common.

He moved right on down the line. Something happened to Allie, so he then went to Chloe.
