Question....

On my monitor some of the photos in the contest -- particularly the jetty picture -- were much bigger than my screen, requiring me to scroll to see the whole photo, but on my husband's monitor, they all fit in his screen perfectly. Is there some adjustment I can make somewhere so they'll fit in mine? My screen's better and bigger than his and has much deeper and brighter color, but this one thing drives me nuts. Clues?

1. Width in pixels was 1024

800 generally fits on all standard screens - anything beyond that is questionable.

You can try changing the resolution of your screen (Start Menu, Settings, Control Panel, Display, Settings). Make the resolution greater, which should shrink the images. It may also make the text on your desktop too small to read :shrug:

3. I'll give that a shot, but you're probably right about the text...

I have to really squint when I'm on my H's computer. I'd go blind if I had to use his monitor all the time, especially since I'm on the computer more than eight or 10 hours a day.

2. Depends on how the screen resolution is set

He obviously has a different setting than you. The standard setting is 800 X 600. The highest is 1280 X 1024. Go to your desktop, right-click "prperties", click on settings. 800 X 600 will probably mean you have to scroll. Check yours & your hubbies & set yours like his.

4. I did that, but it does make very tiny text.

I'll go check out the big pictures real quick and then put it back to 800 x 600.

6. If you like the bigger screen res

you can set the text to show bigger. (Did this for hub) Go to you display settings and under settings open advanced. Under the General tab you will see a place that starts with diplay...if you screen resolution makes items too small... anyway you can set your DPI about 100%. The hub was ok with his at 125% of normal. You can adjust it until you are comfortable with yours.
