Bohemian waxwings
We were visited this morning by a big flock of Bohemian waxwings, stopping by to eat the berries on the Mayday tree.

1. Each better than the next. But number two says it all. That
fabulous wing in focus. Just as it should be. I hope Maestro sees these.

Bravo, Blue !!!!!!!

3. I'm not sure where they hang out most of the time,

but usually we see the flocks around Christmastime. This year they were a little late. The mountain ash berries are just right for them during the winter season.

Wikipedia says "the Bohemian Waxwing is the only member of this family whose range circumnavigates all the continents just below the sub-Arctic latitudes."

4. Wow, thanks
Never have seen one of those. In fact, I hadn't heard of it. Very cool looking bird.

6. In the eastern US we have the Cedar Waxwing. They pass through here
on Migration. We see them a couple times a year. They'll take over a tree to spend the night in. Their flight patterns around the tree are a real giveaway.

7. They look ticked.
As if winter in Alaska turned out to be tougher than they thought!
