Yes, because they are old, decaying and beautiful. (Mesa Verde?- let us know - when I was there I was limping severely and missed areas, this is not one I saw)
and no, because I think these photos are maybe more apt for historical places, or for places carefully preserved....

I think the voters will ultimately decide that answer.
I definitely believe either decision is a good one.

I just wondered if people would consider weathering and erosion decay.
They don't quite fit my definition of decay, but it's worth pondering.

7. Yeah! Mesa Verde. Wonderful memories, though I was really injured and could

barely walk, inch in great pain is more like it.
I understand your dilemma well, first maybe because I was so taken by it, secondly decay is just not how I feel about it. I study my own photos of it at times with awe of what a monumental place it is.

Go with your gut, is what Alfredo would tell you, maybe.
Be creative with the title, maybe, to steer the viewer to what you want to show.

8. What amazes me is that they certainly qualify for the decay theme, but

what I really get from them is a sense of humankind leaving their mark on the earth, not the sort of mark we as a civilization are now leaving on the earth, but something beautiful and ingenious and inspiring. Which leads me roundabout to the theme again, beautiful decay. The poignancy of these ruins is beautiful in a soul-stirring sense.
