Lance is leading by two hours out of Koyuk. If he pulls this off, it will be the first time ever anyone has won four in a row. As many of you know, Lance is a throat cancer survivor, who has lost much of his salivary glands and has extensive nerve damage. He has a medical marijuana prescription and has smoked on the trail in the past, but this year apparently some sour-grapes mushers complained that they thought it gave him an unfair advantage, so the Iditarod Trail Committee decided to drug test everyone, especially Lance, despite his prescription.

Anyone who thought it would slow him down has gotten a BIG surprise.

The Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race -- often called "The Last Great Race on Earth," with 71 man-and-man's- best-friend groups trekking across Alaska -- is near its conclusion.
