Hemingway lived in a house, the first residence of his in Key West, that now has the Pelican Poop store at the street level.
If you buy 10 dollars worth of merchandise, you can look at the yard and garden area where he wrote " A farewell to Arms".
If you don't it's 2 bucks - and frankly - there wasn't any Pelican poop worth buying.
We paid the 2 bucks.
Here is the beautifully appointed garden. I took some photos of it a year or so ago, and posted them, so I won't do that again.
But I don't think I told what the ticket taker said about two people he found, after they simply did not re-appear for a long time, having a really sexy time in this pool, with the clothes leading a trail to the water.
It was a hot hot day, so I took a picture of the fountain spritzing some water
One more, of the entrance to the building where Hemingway lived, as it looks now
I can't keep Mom out of the photos, now that she knows I post them on DU. I'm kidding, of course.
And finally, a street shot near Mallory Square, the southern most spot in the US of A.
Thanks to all of you for the feedback. Very sweet of you. It's a grounding exercise for me to post a few at night.
I had a call today: " Are you ever going to be working again?" I said to the man "Not this month, I am away I need to look after my mother right now. You surely know how that is." He said he did.
I wonder how I will explain my tan.
