1. O'WoW
The bridge/trees background....love it!

What kind of tree is that in the next picture after the one with the bridge?

2. I have no idea
I've never seen one on the west coast. The first time I saw one was last year and I thought it was a dying evergreen/pine of some kind. Then I noticed all of those trees were turning golden. They really are spectacular.

4. My dear Mz Pip!
#4 doesn't look like an also-ran to me...

In fact, none of them do!

But I love the arched bridge with the trees all around...

Thanks for sharing...

:hi:

6. For me it is sometimes wrenching...

to decide what to submit. I suspect it was the same for you with these phenomenal shots to chose from.
I maintain though that your entry has that certain "je ne sais quoi" which I actually DO know, because it is: "Out of the Park".

It's a lineup of glory, that's all there is to it.

I had the hardest time this time,
shot more than I ever did before for a contest, and in the end had no perspective left at all.
I learned quite a bit, I'm sure, though I can't verbalize it yet.

Maybe I'll put together a thread of those not posted as well.

7. My favorite seasonal contests
are Autumn and Winter, because we don't really have Autumn or Winter here. Oh we have a few deciduous trees around town but they haven't begun to exhibit much color. I always plan to visit my son in NYC in the Autumn and end up feeling like a kid in a candy store - Central Park, the arboretums are just spectacular. Then I return with a gazillion shots to go through.

I look outside my window this morning and the willow tree hasn't begun to turn. Mostly, it doesn't. The new leaves in the Spring just push the old ones off.
