Following mister alfredo

I gave using the B&W setting on a digital camera a try. I used a little Canon A510. The only thing I can't figure out yet is what color filter the camera is using (if any). It looks like a Blue Filter at times and other times it looks like a yellow filter. Maybe it's just 'neutral'.

I did absolutely nothing to these other than resize them for the web.

Took it with me to finish up a cemetery. All handheld.







It was pretty cold and the little curtain that opens and shuts to protect the lens got frozen. After this picture I had to quit using it.



Using another digital compact camera (that I used for the cemetery) I chilled out with the geese in a quiet little park before calling it a day. Was bummed that I had a smudge on the lens. Oh well.

You did him proud! :thumbsup: Those are some serious still lifes.........that second one really has a ton of stuff going on. My fave is the third to last. I love the way the clouds and tree frame the statue.

3. That makes me feel so good. Yes, I love the same ones.

Sometimes using Auto White Balance can add some contrast if needed, but it isn't always needed, especially the second one.


My feeling is the B&W in my Canon is similar to Kodak Panatomic-X. Google it and look at images taken with that wonderful film.

There's a depth to B&W that just speaks to me.

Black & white is my favorite, but it's amazing how the color panorama pops after going through the others.
