Abo, New Mexico, birds & others

Abo is located about halfway (45 minutes) between Dad's and home. It's only about a mile off US60 and though I have passed by there many times in nearly 20 years, this was the first time I stopped. Built in 1629.

I would really like to work the lichens more. The fuzziness drives the camera focusing crazy.


This is a huge (5 feet across), ancient alligator juniper stump that was probably cut 100 years ago or so.


The yucca seed pods are prolific this year.
