Multi-tasking with the theme this month
I don't generally just go out to take photos, but just take my camera with me whatever else I am doing. Today was no exception. We had our grandkid for the afternoon. Time to take some shadow photos! eg,

Tempted to enter this, but probably won't. I do rather like the shadow, LOL.

1. These are all wonderful...
I can't exactly explain just why, but the first one made me gasp.

The others are nice too, but that first one just jumped out at me...

You have a very cute grandchild!

:hi:

2. Thanks
He's a cute mess. He needs a haircut! I don't like to enter recognizable faces of family members, but some of these are not all that recognizable. Also, WJMS sent me a rather brilliant take on the last one that leaves only the hand in it. I hope he will post it here to see what everyone thinks. Not sure what I will enter but at least now I have some shadow choices............and, there are a few days to go.

I do rather like the shadow that the scooter makes. In the one you like he is looking before crossing to the other side of the bridge.

8. you probably mean number four
Whereas WJMS worked with five.

Thank you. I think that photo is very sweet looking. I like it better than the one with the snow patch in it, but I wish this one had a snow patch instead of just mud.

6. it's number five
But I kinda like it, better than my original for sure. But I would be interested to see how others fell. If I am in an "out of the box" mood I might just enter some variation of this. It totally reminds me of my childhood, because Dad made home movies (the kind people joked about being boring) but we loved to make those funny shadows on the screen.

And no, this was not set up in any way.

5. Sweet! I love how the shadow on 4 looks like something other than
what it is...

7. you may mean number five...............
I feel that WJMS variation is pretty interesting, plus it would solve my issue about entering faces of family members. I'm still slightly leaning towards a more traditional interpretation of the theme.

10. I like number 2

But all are wonderful.

Edited to add: The composition and overall lighting of number 2 are what make this a photograph rather than a picture. If you catch my drift.

11. I do
I agree that the lighting and composition are best in that one. The shadow is fine but not quite as interesting as the last one. Not sure that any of these are winners but I had fun trying to incorporate the theme into the outing. If I could go back I would change some of the settings on the camera.

12. I'm so glad you are getting what you wanted:
Time to shoot and a little sun!!!

You're using it well. Love that grandchild's looks, enjoy him, they grow so fast.
I think what WJ did is brilliant. But that's just how he is, he can't help it though he tries.

I, would crop the first one, take off all the top vertical stuff, just kid and shadow. I would take the tree out of the man/child walking and square it up (the second from the bottom).
I look forward to your decision.

13. Yep
His edit was brilliant. And yes, that is just how he is. And it took two private messages to convince him to post it here. I really wanted everyone to see it. Thank you Mira for all the time this month. This is a lot more enjoyable.

14. FWIW I prefer # 4. It has very natural feeling about it.
