geology everywhere
the hills around Los Angeles are a terrific study in geology... too hazy to get any good distance shots and too busy working to go looking for the 'right one'... maybe tomorrow

driving back to the hotel this afternoon (and why do they call it rush hour... seemed pretty slow to me)

in one of my neighborhoods

1. That is rush hour
See, there's actually space between the cars. And that is awesome graffiti.

3. traffic had cleared
by the time I got out towards Santa Clarita... I was thinking about the glorious land formations in the area and the distinct difference between inner city and just the few miles north out of town. The graffiti throughout LA is awesome and since I can't always stop and get the picture I want, I settled for this one. Makes me think of all the people that fall through the cracks in society... there are so very many smart, talented, interesting people in this world that never get their dues, nor anything for that matter, because of our 'societal rules'

2. Thanks for the photo. It took me years
to get used to the incredible terrain just driving on the freeways and roads - the mountains, the foothills the valleys, brilliant carpets of flowers that just pop up, lakes and unexpected waterfalls. That's my closest freeway, too, but I'm much further south - it's really a joy to see from another perspective :)
