3. if I read the technobabble correctly
they will have to invent a new sensor for it to work, the mock ups on the website are simulations?

don't know, could be the next great thing, more likely will be lost to time in a year

5. The way they talked is that they have a sensor that can collect
that light, but beyond that, I don't know.

8. They've already invented the sensor
In the New York Times article about this technology they said that they had people using the prototype cameras, so they had the working sensors in a generic black box.

I will resurrect the smashed camera (I always say I'm smashing cameras because compared to you guys' my photos just don't measure up)
and I will glue it back together.

10. It's not entirely 'new' technology
In very simple terms it is sending light through a multi-lens before it hits the sensor. You can read the geek report on early development of this technology:
