a rose experiment
this is more of an experiment than anything else. this is a rose i used a couple of different white balances for the first 2. the third one has some different white balances that I then combined as if it was an HDR shot. the light source was a candle. the last one is the same rose shot with a flash

im not sure is I like the results,It is an experiment to see if I even like the idea of combining white balances. I know I dont like the last one,I only posted that for contrast

1. I like 4 then 1.
The middle two seem too overexposed with lots of detail loss. I don't mind the colors.

Using a candle as a light source, if you are not using a custom white balance, starting at "incandescent" and moving to warmer (lower temperatures) would be your best bet.
