2. I'm guessing you found this to be funny?
I'm not laughing.

I believe that Photography has a strong psychology aspect to it. The content of a photo can say more about the photographer than the content. Not that this is really a photograph. It's just you walking down the street behind a heavy man sweating and stealing his image with a snapshot that really doesn't even tell me that it is HOT.

I'm not heavy but I actually sweat more than the man you stole an image of. A lot more. It's because of the meds I take. I'll wear black T-Shirts, a headband, and dark shorts to help 'disguise' my sweating. I carry a clean T-shirt in my camera bag because after a few hours out in the hot sun it gets pretty 'ripe'. I also will find shade to remove my headband and let it air out for awhile so it will dry.

Again. I'm not laughing.

This snapshot isn't in the same category as say..... "Piss Christ". It doesn't have the same impact in which the photographer was intent on shocking or offending people. It's just plain offensive. In case you haven't followed the News, we are in a Great Depression. Many poor people are forced to buy cheap food that is high in calories and fat because they can't afford to eat healthy. Also; many people suffer from depression and turn to eating as a way of dealing with that. I say "good for him". At least he has on a pair of comfy shoes and he's going for a walk.

Maybe you should post this in the lounge. I'm sure you'll get a more chuckles from it there. Or, better yet. I believe there is a DU group that deals with weight loss. Try posting it there.

.... and just when I removed my Ignorius Cream. Guess I need to open a new tube. :eyes:

4. Mira posted a pic of a man sweating.
I saw a pic of a man sweating, I believe most members of this forum saw a pic of a man sweating. YOU however, saw a pic of a FAT man sweating. What does that say about you? I have enjoyed Mira's photos for years now and I have never seen even a hint of malice in her work. Maybe you should climb down off your high horse and examine your own prejudices

1. This isn't the lounge or the weight loss group. That is a non-starter, as they say.

2. Not everyone is going to love every photo posted here. I remember when someone entered a photo of an animal being butchered into the contest about Work. The vegetarians didn't like it. One person's trash is someone else's treasure.

3. There is also no requirement that you voice every objection that you have to a particular photo here. Everything I need to know I learned in kindergarten. One of those things is "If you can't say something nice about someone, don't say anything at all." Because this is a political site, Republicans are excepted. But your attacks on one of our own are getting personal. You are looking foolish, but whatever.....

7. Clearly this photo had a powerful emotional effect on you, however unintended.
Win for the photographer.
