1. I love the detail in the first. The flowers appear to be shoving the
"dead" wood aside. Of course that's what spring is all about.

5. I didn't see it that way...

2. When I grow up, or come back in my next life is more likely,
I want to be a photographer just like you.
In the first one the composition is stellar, the parallels are as if you placed them yourself, and the bokeh is perfect (I really don't like that word, heaven knows why)
In the second one it looks as if the color of the flowers is either reflected on the wood, or has spilled onto it. This is what I like and want to learn to take:
Photos with attitude and a secondary message beyond just being well done and pretty.

6. There you go...
...makin' me blush! I love what you wrote: "Photos with attitude and a secondary message beyond just being well done and pretty." You are so insightful and thoughtful. Thank you, as always, for taking the time to look and comment, it means a lot.

3. a good photo evokes emotions
and your birdhouse does it for me... bittersweet thoughts of the birds that once lived there

Behind my house is a small cedar swamp and my neighbor collects bits and pieces to play with... he made me a birdhouse similiar to the one in your photo from cedar wood and I adore it.

7. I know what you mean...
There is something about rustic birdhouses, isn't there? Many birds have made a home but I don't think this particular house has ever had a successful outcome. We have Cooper's Hawks and they raid nests constantly -- they are beautiful and I know they have to make a living too but it breaks my heart. They have even ruined one of my birdhouses in their mania to raid it.

4. The first is awesome.
I like the 2nd one too. Especially the color...like the flower is absorbing yellow from the fence.

8. I couldn't believe my luck...
... when I saw that color on the fence rail! This is the first year I've ever seen such a pretty color like that and how thoughtful to have it match the poppies!
