We are thinking of taking a short vacation next summer and we want to go to Lexington. What would you suggest we not miss while there?

4. What are your interests? If you are into horses, the Ky

Horse Park an essential stop. If you are into history, we have Henry Clay's, John Hunt Morgan's home, and Mary Todd Lincoln's home. Nature is within your reach. One hour to the east is Natural Bridge State Park. At the southern edge of our county we have Raven Run. McConnell Springs is a nice small oasis of nature within the city. The Arboretum at UK is a nice little slice of nature. As you can see, we have some great old homes, a very good music, night club, and restaurant scene. If you are into geology, we have 450 million year old rocks to examine. Horse farms, we have horse farms. If you are into booze, we make a lot of Bourbon nearby. Woodford Reserve distillery has tours. It is about 25 miles to the west near Frankfort. I would suggest going via Old Frankfort Pike.

Into horse racing? We have The Red Mile for harness racing, and Keeneland for thoroughbreds. Keeneland is one of the prettiest race tracks in America. The horse farms do have tours, but be sure to check ahead to see what farms are open.

Buffalo Trace is one of my favorite brands. I don't know if they have tours.

6. The road up to Paris Ky is nice, and the country around there

is pretty. Paris had some good antique stores the last time I visited.

Shaker Village is beautiful. I heard that their food is excellent.
