1. There is so much creative iron work

out there . . . I'm glad that you were able to document this piece.

And it's even more dramatic against that brick wall!

2. This seems to be purely decorative

since it doesn't really function as something to hold onto while using the stairs. Curious.

3. Until I saw the beautiful works of iron, stone, and photograph---

I thought you were making a declarative statement about some of the more frustrating times of our lives ---

(joking aside, I will show this to a friend of mine, who is an immigrant German blacksmith who loves beautiful wrought iron work and the last time I saw him he had a Kodak around his neck and said he had branched into photography)

I'm glad you like the shot. Brooklyn Heights has a lot of charm, but I wasn't able to capture much of it.

I'm back in Europe already...in Normandy.

On the way to JFK airport I snapped this picture through a window of our bus.
