1. Omigod, my dear Blue!
This is just gorgeous!

I'm lovin' the reds and oranges...

And the way the sun backlights the clouds...

I'll bet it was chilly too!

GREAT shot.

:hi:

2. One of the best sunrises I've ever seen.
Edited on Tue Oct-04-11 03:15 PM by Blue_In_AK
I have a whole series from this spot as the sun was coming up. It wasn't cold (to an Alaskan), but nicely cool as it often is in the Bay Area in the early morning. I did very minimal processing of this shot -- the colors were naturally gorgeous.

3. What a wonder you have here. I totally love the feel of it, the colors, the
expanse and the hugeness of the bridge. That pillar seems to be piercing the clouds. Fabulous, and thanks!

4. I'm guessing you were at the pier at the Ferry Building?
That definitely makes me homesick. Great shot!

Getting ready to take the ferry to Oakland.

6. Wish I had known you were there. We might have been on the
same ferry. I take it several times a week, but I get off in....Alameda.

Here is a photo I took of that same bridge a few days ago....

9. It was Friday, the 23rd, the 7:30 ferry, I believe.
Edited on Wed Oct-12-11 03:03 PM by Blue_In_AK
We always love to take the ferry when we're down there. My husband's union flies us down to Oakland every year for a physical at the MEBA clinic, but we spend most of our time in San Francisco, so we take the BART over to the City from the Oakland airport, then take the ferry back across the Bay the next morning. The clinic is up around 19th street or Berkeley Way (?), so we just go early and walk from Jack London Square.

10. Awesome.
And what I love about it most, is that it is natural. No HDR. Just photographer skill.

11. Thank you.
I'm not too impressed with HDR either unless it's done with a very, very light touch.
