Fall Vines
I went out to capture the extraordinary light I had seen the day before, but didn't have time to stop for. Whoops, the fog hadn't cleared down valley. Oh well, you shoot with the light you have, not the light you want.

1. Is that first one
on the Silvarado Trail? That stone wall looks familiar. It's such pretty country this time of year.

2. It's Rudd
I'm actually shooting from the cross road. Trail is 100' to the right.

Second one is Quintessa. The gate is out of frame to the left.

3. Very nice.
The difference in wall construction is one of the changes in the valley that I have noticed over my lifetime. The round-rock, mortar-less stacked walls built by the Chinese and Italians have given way to the squared, mortared walls built primarily by Mexicans.

I would guess it was a reflection of the change in demographics and style over time, but the Mexicans were here before either Chinese or Italian immigrants. I suppose there wasn't a lot of need for stone walls in cattle ranching.

6. I'm doing fine Mira, thankyou. I've just been very busy...

I've been doing a lot of work around the place (interior remodeling and exterior landscaping, painting, etc.) and that has had most of my attention.

I'll be taking a road trip in the late spring of the coming year; going to drive from S.F. Bay Area to northern Maine then down the East Coast to Georgia, then across the Deep South to San Diego, and then up the California coast to home. I imagine I'll take the camera. :D

Hope you are well. :hi:

5. That second one is a little symphony to me. I completely love it.
The bottom triangles, and that sky!
Fabulous.

I may play with that, not that I can improve it, but I want to see something if I can make that sky a third tringle.
I think I know you enought to know you won't mind, and if I like it I'll show you.
