Hi, everyone! Actually took some people shots

Been busy. Lots going on here at home. Between the daily grind I've tried taking 'people' shots. Not comfortable doing it though.(So I used family as my guinea pigs)

This is my grand-niece and grand-nephew. I asked permission from their mom, my niece, to shoot and post. I'll shoot crowds....just never been too comfy shooting a person.

1. WOW! Beautiful kids and a phenomenal debut for showing that. The next to last one

at the swings literally made me gasp with sharing her joy. That's a real keeper! Wonderful portraiture. Love the first three. If I were the mother I would beg you to keep shooting.

2. Thanks, Mira. I'll have to keep inviting family over to get more practice. lol

I had a hard time keeping up with my nephew. He was constantly running and moving & always other people near him (didn't want them in the shot). Hopefully I can get better shots of him another time.

7. Very good pictures. Here's how to get comfortable with

photograph people. Start of shooting at public events. There is less expectations of privacy. Shoot wide angle. If the camera is not pointing directly at them, they may not think they are in the frame. Engage them, show them the image. Smile. Compliments do wonders. I like your hat, your studded jacket is beautiful, your face is incredible, are some of the openings I've used. Use sequential shooting. That ups your chances of catching a relaxed moment.

Compact and micro 4/3 cameras don't register as pro cameras to most people. It makes you appear less intimidating.

I'll need to overcome my own reticence in approaching people in that manner.

9. I'm not a shy person, but I have found it difficult at times.

11. I'm not shy either....just know I don't want my picture snapped

by a stranger and that hampers my own shooting of others. Some people don't mind, however.

I've never been very good at people pictures and these suggestions might make me give it a try.
