Yay! My partner's out of town, the kids are at camp

My daughter's at work, I've got the place to myself.

I'm trying to fell a huge, dead birch tree in my front yard. I cannot cope with the socialization required to get someone to help me (Aspergers) so I'm doing it myself. Bystanders think I'm crazy.

I've got all the right tools including saws, ladders, climbing harnesses, rope etc. Why shouldn't I do it myself?

1. How big is it?

The main reason to get help is because they fall over on things
(you, neighbors houses, neighbors cars, neighbors kids, etc.).

Since it is "huge" that would be a worry.

2. I ended up with a crowd

The next door neighbour wandered out to see what the excitement was (I thought he was in Calgary). Then a friend dropped by and stayed to help, then two guys from across the street, the neighbour two doors down.

I thought the CBC guy shooting pictures was pushing it a bit.

Anyway, the tree's down, nobody got hurt and I met a whole bunch of new neighbours and they're not all that bad. One's lending me a chainsaw later in the week.
