East Bay Open Studios is an annual event coordinated by PRO-ARTS, a local, artist run, non-profit organization scheduled the first two weekends of June. The PRO-ARTS gallery, located in Oakland's Jack London Square, hosts samples of over 500 East Bay artists' work. One can visit the gallery, look at the samples, identify artists' studios one wants to visit, and utilize the free maps made available to visitors. These maps are also distributed throughout the East Bay and San Francisco. Visit the
PRO-ARTS web site for more information.
I want to invite all DUers in the Bay Area to this not-to-be-missed event. This year I will be exhibiting over 100 works, more than half of them completed this year: Oil on canvas, aluminum, wood and paper, ranging in size from 6 x 6 inches to 6 x 10 feet. I have so much new work, I've extended my usual exhibition space into the adjoining studio. I'm very excited about these paintings and the directions developing from them. Although my work is represented by
LIMN and
Big Pagoda of San Francisco, I enjoy opening my studio and showing my work to visitors. An opportunity I only get once a year. I hope you'll come take a look!
For examples of both new and older work and more information about the event, including map and directions, please visit my web site
