"There is no medical proof in any medical journal to prove that it works. This past August 2002 in Men's Health magazine there was a 4 page expose on Avacor stating it was a scam. Four weeks ago on ABC "Nightline" there was a program titles "BALDERDASS". The main point of the program was that Avacor is a worthless preparation. Is it possible to make topical lotions stop DHT production?

Yes, but if it is so potent it would have to get FDA approval. As a "cosmetic" there are a lot of bogus treatments which the FTA (not the FDA) says they do not have time to investigate and punish. Remember the Helsinki Formula? They were finally asked to stop marketing their product and fined $3 million dollars for false advertising. This was after they made $39 million in profit."

"According to Response magazine, Avacor was the third best selling product on the Internet in April, 2002. It is manufactured by Global Vision Products. Avacor has been the focus of lawsuits and investigative reporting by major media like ABC news. Like most products that advertise 'Stop Hair Loss and Regrow Hair!', Avacor contains small amounts of the FDA approved drug Minoxidil. Avacor, like other products with similar claims, mixes FDA approved drugs in their generic form with other ingredients in a multiple regimen products like shampoo, lotion and vitamins.

Advertised at a cost of $239 for a two to three month supply, Avacore can be nearly $1,000 a year to use. The ingredients in Avacor can be bought over the counter at your local store at a fraction of the cost for which they are sold in Avacor."
