1. Ghost in the Shell or Akira
Both could be done with the current technology. Both would be great. Though I am leaning more towards Ghost right now.

2. They're in pre-production for live Akira, aren't they?
Thought I read some casting news a while back.

3. wouldn't be surprised...
if La Blue Girl is already live action, then Akira has gotta be in production somewhere. Oh, perhaps you mean a 'good' production. not a B-movie fan acted version.

4. Oh, that would be weird.
A live action Akira? One of the things about Akira that I feel has kept up its near-mythic quality is the surrealism, the fantasy-blended with operatic violence and tragedy. Today's action films mean to be quick, dirty, get the job done with almost antiseptic-looking CGI. Akira's storytelling seems almost to come from a different era, and the way it has a deliberate, purposeful plot revelation method combined with smash-cut action keeps it current.

I just can't imagine it in live action done the way the story has come to be loved!
